Sources confirmed late Monday that Duke has officially extended an offer to Charlottesville (VA) St. Anne’s-Benefield standout Javin DeLaurier
The four star prospect becomes the fourth - and likely last - outstanding offer for the Blue Devils in the current senior class joining five star power forwards Harry Giles and Wenyen Gabriel, and five star center Marques Bolden.
Each of the four offered players will visit Duke over the next six weeks officially with the Blue Devils hosting Bolden this weekend, September 18th, Gabriel on October 16th, DeLaurier on October 23rd, and then Giles on October 30th.
The Duke-DeLaurier recruitment has picked up very rapidly with the prospect reaching out to the Blue Devils in early August and Coach Krzyzewski’s staff reciprocating the interest in a big way. Especially after the 6-foot-8, 215 pound forward’s string of strong summer performances.
Recently he announced a final list of Arizona, Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Stanford and Texas. DeLaurier visited Notre Dame offically earlier this month and visited Texas last weekend. As first reported by Scout.com’s Evan Daniels last week, he met with the Duke coaches on Monday night and will visit Durham on the 24th of October.
DeLaurier is regarded as Scout's No. 9 power forward and No. 40 overall prospect in the 2016 recruiting class.
