Jela Duncan To Play Vs. Georgia Tech

The Duke running game received a big shot in the arm on Thursday after junior running back Jela Duncan was listed as probable.

Jela Duncan, who was sidelined with a shoulder injury during camp, has been cleared to play and is expected to take the field for Duke this Saturday against Georgia Tech.  The 5-foot-10, 210 pound junior was listed as “Probable” on Thursday afternoon’s injury report.

As a freshman Duncan was the team’s second leading rusher, but missed all of last season due to academic suspension.   He has a career rushing average of 5.1 yards per carry.

Other notable injuries appearing this week include linebacker Chris Holmes (leg) and safety Jake Kite (leg).   Both players are listed as questionable.  Holmes was recently passed on the program’s released depth chart by true freshman Ben Humphreys.

The Blue Devils will be without tight end Dan Beilinson and offensive lineman Cody Robinson according to the injury report.
