Chidi Okonya finished off his recruitment by committing to Duke on Sunday morning as he concluded his official visit to Durham.
The three star defensive end had been committed to Tennessee since May, but reopened his recruitment a week ago before immediately scheduling his visit with Coach Cutcliffe and the Blue Devils.
He sports a 4.0-plus GPA and projects as a very early impact player on the edge of the defensive line.
Okonya has said he wants to pursue a degree in business and was hosted by freshman defensive end Marquies Price. Like Terrell Lucas (who also committed), his primary recruiter is Coach Jones.
Scout.com has conducted a handful of in-person evaluations of Okonya and reports him to be a long and rangy rush end who could be recruited as a stand-up linebacker. Very fluid and athletic on the edge with good speed to the ball. Still light, so he needs to add weight/strength to his frame, and get better at the point of attack. Best as a pass rusher right now. Needs to work on hands, using his length, and disengaging. Good off the ball, flexible, and should be a top prospect in Georgia.
