Florida DE Terrell Lucas Reaffirms His Commitment to Blue Devils

Following his commitment to Duke, Florida defensive end Terrell Lucas made some public comments that he’d explore taking some more official visits.  Those plans have changed.

Shortly after making his official visit to Durham and committing to Duke, Miramar (Hollywood, Fla.) defensive end Terrell Lucas said he was going to consider some extra official visits to Maryland and Tennessee.

Now, after a few weeks of reflection and some conversations with the Duke coaching staff, the three star prospect has reconsidered according to Scout.com’s Florida analysts, Cory Bender.

Lucas’ decision to shut down his recruiting ends a process that trended upward very quickly toward the end of the summer.  Lucas eventually held committable offers from Nebraska, Michigan, Oregon State, Syracuse, Cal, Colorado, and UCF, in addition to the Blue Devils; Terps; and Vols.

Following his commitment to Coach Cutcliffe, Lucas told TDD what he brings to the college game.

“My strengths are my athleticism and my overall natural ability.  I think my strength and my speed will translate to college game early on.   Also, I think I have to work on getting even faster and my change if direction.”
