Projected Position: Defensive End 2016 Projection: Most likely Duke will need to find a rush end who can play as a true freshman. Such was the case in 2015. Okonya will be in the mix to be that player. He’ll need to add some size, and the ideal situation would be for him to redshirt, but with the Blue Devils struggling on the perimeter (and overall) when it came to getting into the backfield and applying pressure to the opponents, there’s a chance he could play this season. However, while the prospect possesses a number of natural tools, he’s almost assuredly better off redshirting this season. We would expect him to do just that.
Quotable: “I love the people I’m around at Duke, and I’m comfortable with the coaching staff, and I can make the most out of the opportunities Duke provides.”
