He had visited Durham several times over the course of the year and ultimately visited the Blue Devils more than the other two finalists. That decision and some hard work by the Duke coaching staff enabled them to hold off perceived favorite, Georgia Tech.
"I figured out Duke was the right school for me when I met coach [David] Cutcliffe and he told me his history of being a football coach and how he treated the staff on the team and the players.”
Projected Position: Running Back
2016 Projection: Ideally Duke won’t have to play a true freshman running back. But, Brown is our pick to play in 2016 as part of the stable approach in Durham. He’s strong runner who combines speed and a college ready frame. We think Duke will be forced to play one of the two backs in the class, and right now we’d pick Brown as that guy.
Quotable: "I have been talking with the Duke coaches every day before and after I committed and they said that as soon as I joined their team they wouldn't be looking at any other running backs. Therefore I'm not going to look at any other schools.”
