It was a huge shot in the arm to a class that had all the early makings of being special. The four star prospect was renamed as the best linebacker in the state of South Carolina, and was a member (and still is) of the Scout 300.
Hill picked Duke early and over offers from Clemson, Georgia, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
Projected Position: Weakside Linebacker
2016 Projection: Hill has the ability to play early if he can overcome the wealth of young players who have early experience at linebacker. Most likely Duke will look to keep a shirt on Hill and the other freshmen linebackers in hopes that the current group will comfortably and effectively fill out the two-deep in the 4-2-5 system for the Blue Devils. Duke told Hill when he was being recruited that they saw him playing early in his career, but perhaps not as a true freshman.
Quotable: "All the coaches I've talked to like the way I play that position. They see my length and the way I move, but they also have told me that I need to keep getting bigger, faster, and stronger. They see me playing around 230 pounds when I'm ready."
