Meet The New Devils 2016 - DB Antone Williams

Get to know the newest Blue Devils as we go player-by-player in the recruiting class of 2016 with analysis, projections, videos, and more.

Recruiting Recap: Williams was the fourth commitment from the class of 2016, picking the Blue Devils over Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Kentucky, Syracuse, Rutgers, and Wake Forest. All but Wisconsin had come forward with an offer and Ohio State was also heavily recruiting the 5-foot-11, 160 pound defensive back.

Projected Position: Cornerback

2016 Projection: Williams will have a chance to play early, but Duke also has a number of young defensive backs with experience who will slot ahead of him early on. Also, a lot will be determined by the recovery of Bryon Fields and the eventual position of DeVon Edwards (does he stay at CB or return to S)? With so many young DBs playing in the last few years, Williams should have the chance to adapt and redshirt.

Quotable: “They have a great atmosphere there…it’s a big family. And there are great academics with great football. It’s so well rounded.”
