“I visited Duke on April 2nd for a short time,” said Victor Dimukeje, a defensive end at Baltimore Boys' Latin. “After the visit I was informed by Coach Albert that I have a legit offer from Duke University.”
Dimukeje has also picked up offers from a number of Ivy League programs as well as Power 5 programs such as Maryland, Rutgers, Wake Forest, West Virginia, and Iowa State. However, he has just recently solidified himself on the Blue Devils’ recruiting board.
“I have been talking with Duke for a month now through social media,” said Dimukeje. “They have told me they love the way I play and they want me to be of the best defensive line in the nation.”
The likely three star prospect certainly has the measurables and highlight film for that as Scout.com’s Brian Dohn told TDD>
“Dimukeje has a few things you cannot teach, including an ability to accelerate toward the ball carrier and a great motor,” said Dohn. “He plays with tremendous effort, and he is good moving laterally. If he adds size, he could move to defensive tackle in college. Dimukeje gets off at the snap quickly, but he needs to get a little lower and also strengthen his lower body to help with leverage. He moves his feet quickly and neatly and he gets off blocks. He does a nice job with his form tackling. He needs to work his hands a little more and develop a few moves to get to the passer.”
Though it’s early in the process, Dimukeje seems to have an idea of what he is looking for in a program.
“I know I want great academics to be part of my decision,” he said.
