Alabama running back Nicolas Sims took an unofficial visit to Durham recently and says he should know more about an offer from the Blue Devils soon.
Though he didn’t come away with a scholarship offer, Mobile (AL) running back Nicolas Sims certainly enjoyed his time with the Duke coaching staff during a weekend visit to Durham.
“The visit was really pleasing and the most down to earth visit I’ve had so far,” said Sims. “[The coaches] have a philosophy on life that says everyone has a purpose to serve others, and that’s what it’s all about.”
Sims, a 5-foot-10, 185 pound running back with 4.4 speed in the forty, is currently formulating a list of schools he’ll pursue, but has been invited to visit South Carolina, Auburn, and Cincinnati.
Those future visits may very well have to measure up to the experience in Durham, even though Duke didn’t yet extend a scholarship offer.
“Duke definitely set itself apart from other visits because of how real they are with you. They don't feed you pitches are anything, and they are going to look out for your best interest no matter where you end up.”
But what about that potential offer for Coach Cutcliffe and company?
“I had a chance to sit down with Coach Cutcliffe one on one and he told me they thought my film was incredible. The staff is going to meet together and look over my film this week and then let me know something good, hopefully.”
