Only a few days after losing a committed player, the Blue Devils have rallied to land three star defensive end Drew Jordan of North Gwinnett High.
The Blue Devils’ defensive line of the future got a huge shot in the arm on Saturday night when three star prospect Drew Jordan announced his commitment via Twitter. Jordan is rated as the No. 89 defensive end in the country according to Scout.com
He chose Duke over a slew of offers including Arkansas, California, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Michigan State, Boston College, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Northwestern, North Carolina, and South Florida among others.
Scout.com has evaluated Jordan several times in person and the evaluation from the national recruiting team is enough to get the Blue Devils coaches excited it seems.
That evaluation reads as follows:
“Jordan is a versatile football player with the ability to play with his hand in the dirt or standing up on the next level. He is can be a stand-up linebacker in a 3-4 front or a weakside end in a 4-3. He is best when he can let it go and rush the quarterback. His size and length and somewhat of a liability against the big offensive tackles agains the run. He does play with solid pad level and he has a strong base, but he is a little undersized. He quickness to the quarterback makes him very valuable. He has active hands and he can win inside or outside.”
Jordan becomes the 13th commitment in the class for Duke.
