Early in the recruiting process it seemed as though Syracuse would be the ultimate destination for New York’s Jordan Tucker. However, the Orange have appeared to focus on other players while schools such as Indiana, Arizona, Maryland, USC, and Villanova have been associated with Tucker’s recruitment. And it appears that Indiana may be in the driver’s seat.
However, Duke jumping in with both feet could certainly change things.
“I feel really good [about Duke],” Tucker told TDD. “They actually contacted my dad. I think it was Coach Capel and Coach Scheyer. They both said they wanted to see me handle the ball a little bit better…that was their biggest message to me…to keep improving.
Duke watched Tucker as the summer circuit and calendar wore on and while an offer hasn’t come, the interest has been increasing.
“I believe I can get the offer. It’s up to them with what they want to do, because I know they are looking at a lot of wings in my class. But, like I told you before, I really wanted that offer and I’m continuing to work hard.”
And what would the Duke offer mean for the 6-foot-7, 205 pound shooter?
“After I get an offer from them is when I’ll really be looking to cut down my list.”
Tucker is ranked No. 59 nationally by Scout.com in the 2017 class.
