Duke has offered four star shooting guard Alex O’Connell. The prospect announced the offer via his Twitter on Wednesday night.
O’Connell currently has offers from Louisville, UCLA, Iowa, UConn, Texas A&M, Miami, Butler and NC State. He caught the eye of the Duke coaches midway through the summer and they have kept tabs on him ever since.
Rated as the nation’s No. 62 overall prospect and the No. 17 shooting guard, O’Connell is described by Scout.com’s recruiting team as:
“An extremely versatile wing with a lot of upside. He has the size and length to play both the two and three at the next level. He's a very good shooter who can knock down jumpers off the catch and pull. O'Connell has plus athleticism and can take defenders off the dribble and finish above the rim. He has good vision and is a sharp passer. He's grown over the last year and looks as if he could continue to get taller, which would only up his stock.”
Measuring out at 6-foot-6 and 170 pounds, O’Connell averaged over 22 points as a junior at Milton High in Georgia.
