Four star wing prospect Jermaine Samuels has picked up a Duke offer after returning home from an official visit to Villanova.
Samuels is rated a the nation’s No. 42 overall prospect and the eighth best small forward in the country according to Scout.com
Duke began tracking Samuels during the July evaluation period and the 6-foot-6 forward said he was hoping to get a Blue Devil offer before progressing with his recruitment.
"Duke was around last session of Peach Jam and they said they wanted to recruit me.”
At Peach Jam, Samuels was a breakout player as he averaged 14.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while shooting 47 percent from the field and 45 percent from three-point range. The eye-opening performances playing alongside talented players like point guard Tremont Waters and big man Nick Richards led to Duke getting involved.
"Nate James, he's been contacting me almost every day or every other day. And last week, I was contacted by Coach K and he called me while he was in Las Vegas so that blew my mind because I saw it on my phone," Samuels previously told TDD. "He said he really liked my game and he wanted to continue to recruit me."
Now that offer is in hand.
