TDD's Positional Breakdown: Duke vs. Western Carolina

Roster Notes:

Duke enters the second game of the season with a budding quarterback controversy. After a dismal performance against Virginia, starter Adam Smith is reportedly unlikely to earn a 14th straight start for Franks and the Devils. If Smith benched, look for red shirt freshman Mike Schneider to get the nod. Even is Smith is able to lead the first team out, Schneider is sure to be on the field by halftime according to insiders.

All-ACC fullback Alex Wade, who was bothered by a hamstring problem last week has returned to full practice this week and is expected to be available in his full capacity. Against Virginia Wade carried the ball just once for four yards.

Defensive End Micah Harris, who was also sidelined last weekend, is expected to be available as well. Harris will add depth to a defensive, which has been on the field more than Franks would like.

Also the Duke passing game just got a shot in the arm with Khary Sharpe returning to the lineup after serving a one game suspension along with cornerback Temo George.

Did You Know:

Duke enters the 75th season of football in Wallace Wade Stadium where the Blue Devils have amassed a 200-140-6 overall record. However since the 2000 season, last year's victory over East Carolina is the only home field victory posted (1-16).
