Kennard, Devils, Tame Tigers

Luke Kennard made two clutch jumpers in the final minutes to help Duke stave off a rally by Clemson and advance to the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament with a 79-72 victory.

BROOKLYN -- It was a tale of two halves for sophomore standout Luke Kennard. The ACC's leading scorer and only unanimous first team selection, went 1 for 9 from the field in the first half as the Blue Devils found themselves tied with the No.12 seeded Tigers at halftime.

But Duke built a 13 point second half lead, thanks in part to Kennard, who shot 8 for 11 in the second half - including two clutch jumpers late - on his way to another 20 point outing.

Jayson Tatum and Frank Jackson added twenty a piece and picked up the slack while Kennard was cold.

Jaron Blossomgame led the Tigers with 19 points and 8 rebounds.

The No. 5 seeded Blue Devils will take on No. 4 Seed Louisville tomorrow in the quarterfinals.
