McRoberts On Campus This Weekend

With one of the best prospects in the class of 2005 already pledged to Duke at this point, the Blue Devil coaching staff is playing host to another top rising junior prospect this weekend in Durham for an unofficial visit.

Carmel, IN big forward Josh McRoberts and family hopped in the car on Thursday afternoon for the long drive to Durham, NC and Duke University. Unable to utilize an official visit at this point, and desiring to show Duke to the rest of his family, this weekend will be extremely telling in the Hoosier state's top junior prospect's recruitment.

"I got a chance to know the coaching staff back at the summer camp," McRoberts told TDD. "Now I really want a chance to show the campus and introduce the coaches to my mom and family. That's pretty much why we are visiting right now."

Indeed the summer camp made its share of impressions, both on McRoberts and the Duke coaching staff. Soon after he camped at Duke, the Blue Devil coaches began showing up at his AAU competitions before finally offering the versatile big man a scholarship in early August.

Though the rumor mill continues to churn out speculation regarding the chances of a second commitment in 2005 for Mike Krzyzewski, McRoberts is approaching this visit with caution.

"I'm not going to Duke looking to commit or anything, but I do want to make a commitment before my senior season. I think it'll just come when I feel comfortable with the coaches, players, and overall situation."

"If I had to pick a leader, it would be Duke right now."

"Coach K is the best coach around right now. He's a Hall of Fame Coach; my parents are looking forward to meeting with him."
