The Jacksonville, N.C. native watched most of his junior season from the sidelines with a knee injury. As the Northside High School football program enjoyed their most successful season ever. Falling short in the state championship game. But the Blue Devil coaching staff continued to pursue the in-state talent and today their steadfastness paid dividends.
Maurice told Blue Devils Digest what put Duke over the top of his other options.
"What made me commit to Duke is the education. They are one of the elite institutions in the nation. I believe in Cutcliffe and his staff, it's really family over there. And last, they play great competition. Getting to play good ACC teams like Clemson and others. Those were my reasons for picking Duke."
McIntyre is Duke's fourth in-state commitment for the 2018 class. A class that currently ranks inside Scouts top 30.
