Livingston Now Down to Three

Now that Quentin Thomas is in the fold with North Carolina, the Tar Heels have taken themselves out of the running for elite point guard Shaun Livingston.

According to Livingston's grandfather, the 6-foot-6 floor leader will choose between Duke, Arizona and Illinois – with the Blue Devils the clear favorite now that Roy Williams opted to take Thomas.

``Carolina's out of it," said Livingston's grandfather, who also mentioned that his grandson was not given a final chance to choose the Tar Heels after Thomas made up his mind.

``The kid (Thomas) had already committed," he added. "Shaun didn't have a chance. Roy Williams was concerned and needed a guard and didn't want to lose out on his first and second choices."

This comes a week after Livingston's father, Reggie, admitted that Duke and UNC were in a near-deadlock for his son's services. While Livingston will likely choose the Blue Devils, he also intends to take his remaining visits – to Arizona and Illinois – before making an announcement.
