Coach K Trips To Peoria Today

With their official and in-home visits already spent, the Blue Devils are still making their presence felt in the race to secure the nation's best point guard. Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski will be making the trip to Peoria today to appear in an open gym workout session by Shaun Livingston.

"Duke's coming in on Thursday for the open gym," said Peoria High head coach Chuck Buescher on Wednesday night. "I know Shaun is looking forward to seeing Coach Krzyzewski again. He had a really good visit when he visited with them, and I think this will just continue that."

Since that visit to Durham, Livingston has been able to cut his list down to three finalists after North Carolina accepted a commitment from California point guard Quentin Thomas, something that Buescher said came as a shock to both himself and his star point guard.

"I don't think anyone expected it to happen as fast as it did, and I think Shaun was a bit taken back by it. But that's their business and I know Coach Williams has been up front with Shaun from the beginning."

Now it's on to visiting and being visited by Duke, Illinois, and Arizona for the 6-foot-7 floor general before returning home to make a decision. According to his coach, Livingston has a timetable established.

"He's going to visit Arizona for their Midnight Madness, and then Illinois the following weekend. He told me he'll then come home and give it a few days before announcing his decision. I think you safely say it'll be between the 29th of October and first of November."
