Sporting a grade point average of 2.9, Schirmann may be pressed to make it through admissions on the first look. However that's not the case according to Suriano.
"From an academic standpoint, we are what you call a Blue Ribbon school. There are just a few in America, and we are one of them. We are, in our curriculum, hard like Duke, and his 2.9 is probably in the 3.5 range at another school."
When asked for analysis on his star lineman, Suriano offered TheInsiders.com the following:
"He is really athletic. He runs a 5.1 forty, and at 6-foot-5 and 275 pouinds, that is pretty good. We run a no-huddle offense with a lot of plays where our tackles pull (which Schirmann plays). He is very athletic, and a good kid. The class he is in has lost just one game in the regular season since he has been here, and that was by three points this year."
Over the summer Schirmann camped at Illinois, Ohio, and Wake Forest in addition to a number one-day camps at various Midwest programs.
