Is Boyle Still a Blue Devil? -- Updated

The uncertainty surrounding the head coaching situation at Duke has yielded its first poor result as one of the original three recruits from the class of 2004 has de-committed from the Blue Devils. However there remains a chance for a recommitment, but not until the coaching situation firms up.

"I'm no longer committed to Duke," said Harrison High School standout Justin Boyle. "Right now I am looking around, but I am still interested in Duke."

Boyle, who is rated as a two-star caliber recruit by, split time at both running back and linebacker for Harrison this season. So far he's fared the best on the offensive side of the ball where he has rushed for 1,320 yards and 14 touchdowns on the season.

The loss of Boyle leaves Duke with five other prospects on board for next year. Still the talented Georgia prospect does leave the door open for Duke.

"I am going to wait and see who they hire and then I'll hopefully have a chance to talk to that coach, but right now I've got to look around too. It's a big misunderstanding. I still like Duke a lot, but as long as Ted Roof is the head coach I am committed to Duke."

Some of the schools involved with Boyle continues to grow on a daily basis. So far he has offers for Louisville, Cincinnati, Furman, Georgia Southern, and Wofford. Others calling for information include North Carolina, Arkansas, and Auburn.
