Paulus Shines In Front of Coach K

With his future head coach in the crowd, Christian Brothers Academy standout point guard Greg Paulus put on a big time performance in the season opener by scoring 25 points as CBA easily beat Auburn 68-47.

"One down, a lot to go," Paulus said. "The first half was okay, even though I was a little rusty, second half we got back on track."

On the night Paulus drained four three pointers to raise his career point total to 1,330 in just a little over two seasons, while handing out seven assists

"I'm getting in better shape, but being in a game-type situation, its been awhile, and it just took a half to get back," added Paulus. "I didn't shoot the ball the way that I wanted to tonight, but things came together in the second half for me and the team."

Paulus is one of only two returning players from last year's 20-6 Christian Brothers squad, which won the Section 3 Class A championship.
