Junior Season Coverage: Greg Paulus

Christian Brothers Academy point guard Greg Paulus saw his team struggling in its third game of the season. Trailing at the half, and then up only a basket heading into the fourth quarter, CBA turned to its All-American guard to led them to victory. Paulus responded by scoring a game high 27 points as CBA improved to 3-0.

The Brothers trailed 18-14 after one quarter, and then 32-29 at the half to Central Square before taking a small lead with an 18-13 burst in the third period to lead 47-45 heading into the final quarter.

At that point Paulus took over, knocking down two of his four three pointers, in a decisive early run that put the Brothers in the lead for good. All tolled the Brothers put a 27-12 fourth period to win 74-57.

On the night Paulus finished with 27 points (11-of-19 shooting including 4-of-6 from the perimeter), and six assists for the Brothers.

He is now at 1,380 points for his career, the best in CBA history. The New York state prep scoring record, held by Kenny Anderson, stands at 2,507.
