And what about a final allowed official visit?
"I don't know about a fifth visit," says the 6-foot-4, 270 pound lineman. "I don't even know if I'm going to take one."
With the final visit in doubt, it is likely that the Blue Devils will have a chance to make an big impression on Izzy this weekend, which will be important if they hope to add him to an already solid lineman class.
"It [the decision] will basically come down to where I feel most comfortable," said Bauta. "I've talked to my parents and they just want me to pick where I am happiest. They don't care about location or distance from home."
So what about a Duke connection?
"I've got a brother at Duke now, so I am familiar with the campus, but I want to learn more about the program."
While at Polytech Bauta has spent time on both sides of the line of scrimmage, though he's being recruiting exclusively as an offensive guard at the collegiate level.
And why not? He's already putting up 315 pounds on the bench press while squatting over 600 pounds. That strength coupled with good agility and form have made Bauta a favorite of head coach Craig Jacoby.
"He's got room to add weight to his frame, but in general he's just a really tough kid who runs really well and can block for the passing game. He also plays basketball."
