Livingston Leads Lions to victory over top rival

After spending much of the season as the meistro of the Peoria Central offense, future Blue Devil Shaun Livingston is anxious to prove he can also fill up a stat sheet too. That was most evident when the 6-foot-7 lead guard dropped 33 in a conference battle Saturday night.

"Coach just told me to be aggressive tonight," said Livingston of his season high performance. "One of our scorers was sick so I took it on myself to score a little more."

Indeed the Duke bound senior was much more aggressive, making 14 of his season high 28 shot attempts while still grabbing eight rebounds, and dishing out six assists as the Lions were able to hold off rival Peoria Richwoods 72-67 and improve to 12-1 on the season.

Despite leading by double figures a few different times during the game, it wasn't until Livingston knocked down a free throw with ten seconds remaining that Central was assured of the victory.

"That's just something I've got to get used to doing," Livingston told TDD of his game sealing free throw. "I know people are going to give us their best shot, and I've got to convert when I have the opportunities."
