Livingston Keeps Peoria Rolling

Peoria Central continued to roll on Saturday, winning a fifth straight conference game over the Quincy High Blue Devils 69-62 behind a game high 28 points from future Dukie Shaun Livingston.

The 6-foot-7 floor general, who is a lock for the McDonalds All-American game this spring, helped the Lions improve to 14-1 on the season with an array of dribble drives, flashy passing, and ultimately a few rim rattling dunks, despite a technical foul for hanging on the rim.

Throughout most of the contest the Lions found themselves in a tight battle with the Blue Devils staying within four points throughout the first three quarters. Entering the fourth quarter with a three point lead and a hostile crowd growing louder, Livingston quickly scored four of the first eight points as Central got some breathing room with an 11 point lead.

Having missed key free throws early in the season, the Blue Devils took their chances and fouled the Duke bound lead guard three times in the final minute, but Livingston converted five of those six attempts to put the game away.
