Hansbrough and Duke Part Ways

Tyler Hansbrough's father would like his son to visit both Duke and Kentucky, but it doesn't look like that'll happen.

Shortly after Hansbrough returned from a prolonged visit to North Carolina, his second official visit thus far, the 6-9, 220-pound Poplar Bluff (Mo.) junior forward said that he probably won't take any more trips before making his decision.

The Blue Devils were hoping to add Hansbrough to another top junior forward, Josh McRoberts, who has already committed to Duke. However, the two players are somewhat similar and that has hurt the Blue Devils chances with Hansbrough.

Hansbrough will take his third, and apparently final visit, to nearby Missouri on Feb. 12 and then likely choose from Mizzou, UNC and Florida.

``I probably won't take any more visits," Tyler said. ``I'd like to get it done after I get back from the Missouri visit."

Hansbrough's visit to Chapel Hill was supposed to end at noon on Sunday. Instead, he finally boarded a plane for Memphis 24 hours later because of the weather and made it to Memphis Monday late afternoon. His father, Gene, picked him up and made the two-hour drive back to Poplar Bluff.
