Nelson and Sheldon struggle to another win

For the first time this season a defense was effective on future Blue Devil DeMarcus Nelson as Laguna Creek spent most of the game in a 1-3 zone with a floating defender shadowing the future Blue Devil, holding him to just 13 points and 4-of-12 shooting. Despite the slow night offensively, Nelson did manage to lead his team to a 68-65 victory.

Rather than give Nelson the second he needs to get open, the Cardinals sent a strong bodied football player, R.J. Fuentes, at the future Blue Devil for the entire game. As Nelson continued to run his defender into screen after screen, Fuentes was able to battle through the smaller Huskies to stay with Nelson.

The game was tight throughout before the Huskies were able to hold off a late Cardinal rally to up their Delta League record to 7-0 on the season.
