At the halfway point of the season the Peoria Central High Lions were sitting on a 16-1 overall record and a 5-0 conference mark thanks to the play of future Blue Devil Shaun Livingston. On Friday it was more of the same as the 6-foot-7 floor general once again impressed in an easy victory over Notre Dame High.
The Lions began the night quickly, hitting their first six field goal attempts en route to an early 12-0 lead over their opponents. The host shooting would continue as Livingston scored and found his open teammates while leading the Lions to a 23-2 advantage after the first quarter.
While the "Lions' Den" was going crazy over their senior star, there were five NBA scouts also evaluating Livingston on this night. What they saw was the Duke bound guard doing a little bit of everything, and finishing with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four blocks in the easy 69-43 victory.
Peoria's defense held Notre Dame scoreless for the first four minutes of the game.
