McClure Sparks Trinity in Big Win

The Trinity Catholic Crusaders continued to roll along through their conference schedule on Friday night, blowing out the New Canaan Rams behind another solid outing from Duke bound wing David McClure who scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds in the 72-50 victory.

"It was good to get back from the lay-off," said David McClure. "We played well and Chris Skrelja had a great game for us. He's a great three point shooter who was on fire."

In fact Skrelja shared high scoring honors with his future Blue Devil teammate. However McClure also managed to block three shots and come away with four steals, all while shooting 9-of-11 from the floor.

Trinity started the game hot, but New Canaan refused to fold early and actually got the Crusader lead down to seven mid way through the third quarter before McClure keyed a 20-7 run, which put the game out of reach.

The win improves the Crusaders to 11-0 on the season and 8-0 in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference.
