When his teammate committed to Duke first, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before the Blue Devils had landed a duo of big time prospects from Ragsdale High. That proved to be true when Andreas Platt committed to Duke.
Platt didn't seem all that solid when he committed back in November, but when he finally had a chance to take his official visit on the weekend of December 9th.
There, along with fellow teammate and Duke commit Jon Terry, Platt had a chance to get a real feel of what life would be like playing for newly appointed head coach Ted Roof.
"I had fun on the visit," Andreas Platt told TDD. "Jon and I really liked all that happened and all that we saw. It was like we were on the other side and it and got to see everything on the jumbotron. Big Jon was telling me how many linemen they had there and they were going to give scholarships to. All the linemen that were there wanted to commit, I know that."
Standing six feet tall and tipping the scales at 178 pounds, Platt spent time at both receiver and safety for Ragsdale. Where he utilized his 4.6 forty time speed to terrorize opponents on both sides of the ball. He is ranked as the nation's #75 receiving prospect by TheInsiders.com.
Platt chosed the Blue Devils over offers from Wake Forest and Vanderbilt along with strong interest from Virginia, Maryland, and Clemson.
