Livingston Rebounds From Slow Start

In what many thought would be Peoria's toughest game of the season, the Lions managed to pull through despite a woefully slow start by All-American point guard Shaun Livingston who rebounding in the second half to finish with 20 points.

"I didn't start off well tonight," said Shaun Livingston after the game. "I didn't look like a Duke recruit, much less a good high school player."

Indeed Livingston's 2 points and three rebounds in the first two quarters was cause for concern as the Lions as they trailed for the first time all season at intermission, 34-30.

The second half was a completely different story for both Peoria Central and Livingston. The 6-foot-7 lead guard started the second half with a steal only to be fouled on the way to the basket to earn a three point play. Another steal and three point play on the next possession put the Lions up for good at 36-34.

On the night Livingston finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, and three assists as Peoria won its seventh straight.
