Nelson Continues Streak of Big Performances

As the Sheldon High Huskies continue to figure out their identity, the competition continues to be overmatched in Northern California's prep scene as future Blue Devil DeMarcus Nelson continues to put up big numbers. The latest example came Wednesday night as Sheldon beat Franklin High by 20 behind a 39 point performance from Nelson.

After dropping their fifth game of the season against Valley, the Huskies went back to the drawing board. A players only meeting that allowed the team to get to the bottom of the problems facing them was exactly what was needed as Sheldon has now won three straight.

Wednesday night against Franklin the Huskies jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished, winning by a 20 point margin. On the night, future Blue Devil DeMarcus Nelson did a little bit of everything – scoring 39 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, while handing out six assists.

Those 39 points included four big dunks, which brought the capacity crowd to its feet. The most impressive of these jams came when Nelson stole the ball from the opposing point guard and raced down to the basket only to elevate over a Franklin defender before throwing it down over him, in classic posterizing form.

Nelson is expected to be named to the McDonald's All American game this year according to sources close to the situation.
