Briefly previewing the Hornets:

Alabama State enters the tournament riding a four game win streak that included a run to the SWAC championship with a victory over Alabama A&M.

The Hornets are led by Malcolm Campbell, a 5-foot-10 scoring point guard who hits 42% of his three point attempts. As a team Alabama State put up nearly 500 three point attempts in 30 games, making 33% as a team.

ASU isn't afraid to utilize their depth, with nine players on the roster averaging over 16 minutes per game this year. They are also very patient on offense, shooting just over 42% as a team for the season while scoring just 61 points per game.

In their only ‘big time' game of the season, the Hornets fell to Mississippi by 24.
