Boateng Preparing for Second Official

After a rough junior season that saw him miss much of the early slate of games with a broken foot, the nation's top rising senior post prospect is beginning to move forward with his recruiting. After already taking one official visit, he's ready for a second.

Eric Boateng started the official visit portion of his recruiting process in March when he took an official trip to Michigan to meet with head coach Tommy Amaker and the Wolverines. Now he's ready to move forward with a second visit, this one to Los Angeles to meet with Ben Howland and the UCLA Bruins, as reported by TheInsiders.com

After earning a ton of early publicity, the 6-foot-10, 230 pound Boateng has seen his recruitment fly under the radar in recent months as far as media attention goes. However, he's still hearing from a number of top programs including Duke, North Carolina, UCLA, Michigan, Kansas, NC State, Wake Forest, and Villanova.

He has offers on the table from Michigan, UCLA, Kansas, NC State, and Villanova.

In late February Boateng and a St. Andrew's assistant coach took an unexpected unofficial trip to Duke to watch the Blue Devils in action against Maryland.

Boateng averaged 17 points, 10.5 boards and 3 blocks per game since coming back. St. Andrew's finished its regular-season with an upset over Sanford, which has won the league title for 22 straight years. It was the first time St. Andrew's knocked off the state power since 1982.

Previously St. Andrew's head coach Robert Rue told TDD that the Blue Devils had been checking in weekly with the big man, and were among the more active suitors.
