Checking In With Myron Rolle

One of the top rising juniors in the nation had favored Duke early on in the recruiting process, but now he's gotten some of the nation's elite programs offering him scholarships. So does he now still have interest in the Blue Devils? What's the latest? Read on for the complete story.

"I've gotten scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Purdue, Virginia Tech, Iowa, Rutgers," said 6-foot-3, 205 pound Peddie School standout running back Myron Rolle. "The offers from Virginia Tech, Iowa, and Rutgers just came in this month."

The Virginia Tech and Iowa coaching staffs have yet to meet with Rolle, but were quick to pull the trigger on an offer after viewing Rolle's highlight tape. Meanwhile Rutgers has been tracking the rising junior throughout his career due to their proximity to the Peddie School.

Though they were on the list early, the Blue Devils had not been in contact with Rolle for a while, which had the talented back looking elsewhere.

"I hadn't received a scholarship offer from Duke. I had been talking to Brad Sherrod for a while, but now with all the changes down there, I have not heard from him."

However Myron confirms that his head coach has heard from the Blue Devils who reaffirmed Rolle's standing scholarship offer from Duke.

"They really just called in to say ‘Hi', and make sure that I knew they had offered."

While his recruiting process continues to move forward, he will soon be transferring to The Hun School of Princeton, NJ.

"It'll be odd because they are in the same Mid-Atlantic Prep League as my current team."

As far as his remaining plans for the summer, Rolle has yet to finalize things, though he did offer a partial list of planned activities.

"I am going to attend the Elite College Combine on May 5 at the Meadowlands as well as the Nike Camp at Penn State on May 15. I have not completed my summer list as of camps that I want to attend just yet."
