Recently he took a visit to UCLA that went very well. While on campus in Westwood Brockman had a chance to eat breakfast with former Bruin great John Wooden along with members of the current team. It was the first of the expected five official trips the big guy plans to take.
"I know I'll visit Washington, but that's it right now. I am not sure on the others at this point. It's a wait and see kind of thing at this point."
A number of schools are battling for those remaining three spots including North Carolina, Duke, Arizona, Stanford, and Gonzaga, though a decision isn't likely forthcoming before the fall.
"I'm going to take all my visits before I make a decision and I've got to figure out where those are going to be."
Over the past few months the Blue Devils have certainly done all they can to maneuver themselves into Brockman's good graces in hopes of earning a visit.
"Ever since they came out to watch me in an open gym they've been in contact as much as they can. I've become very aware of Duke. It's hard not to notice them, I mean they are always on top it seems, they are pretty elite."
Brockman averaged just over 22 points and 13 rebounds per game for his Snohomish High School team as a junior while playing nearly exclusively in the paint – something he plans on continuing at the collegiate level.
"I like to get up and down the floor," he said. "I try to give it my all every time I step on the floor. If that means diving on the floor then so be it. I also love to get inside and rebound the ball. I think I'll be more of an inside guy who can step out and play some four, but mainly I'll stay inside.
