Coach G Closes Out '05 Recruiting

After landing a solid group in 2004, the Blue Devils decided to get the job done early in the current crop of rising seniors. As of Thursday night it's mission accomplished for Coach G and company as Duke received a forth and final commitment from the class of 2005.

The Fab Four For Coach G in 2005

Keturah Jackson – 6'0 G/F, Columbia, SC: Named to the USA Youth Development Festival after earning a number of big time honors including Gatorade Player of the Year honors for South Carolina, and All-State recognition as both a sophomore and junior.

Brittany Mitch - 6'2 G Washington, DC: Averaged nearly 11 points per game while being tabbed as one of the top players on the East coast. Grew from 5'5 to a towering 6'2 while retaining all her coordination. Led her U-13 to the AAU National Title in 2001.

Carrem Gay -- 6'2 PF New York, NY: Considered one of the jewls of the class, Gay plays for strong prep program Christ the King, which also produced WNBA stars Chamique Holdclaw & Sue Bird. Also invited to the USA Development festival. Averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds per game as a junior while earning a number of honors including All America mentions by Student Sports.

Abby Waner -- 5'10 SG – Highlands Ranch, CO: Likely a top 10 prospect in the class, Waner can do it all when it comes to scoring. Able to hit the perimeter jumper, she torched Colorado competition to the tune of helping ThunderRidge High to consecutive Class 5A state titles, averaged a big-school-record 31.8 points last season. She will lead a ThunderRidge team that is expected to be ranked in the top 10 nationally next season.

Note: Abby's sister, Emily Waner, will also transfer to the Duke program after averaging 7.1 points per game in 30 appearances and eight starts for Colorado. Emily can run the point or shift to the off guard slot when needed.
