Cox Decommits; Pledges to Georgia

Sources close to the situation have informed TDD that Charlotte Independence quarterback Joe Cox has indeed committed to Georgia.

The Charlotte signal caller had verballed back on May 30, but still decided to camp this weekend in Athens.

While there the Bulldogs offered him a full scholarship which he has apparently accepted - terminating his commitment to the Blue Devils in the process.

Unlike Duke's other commitment, Gene Delle Donne - a top 150 overall prospect, Joe Cox continued to shop himself around after making his commitment.

"It's just a verbal. I'm still looking at other schools. My top three schools are Duke, Georgia and UCLA," said Cox in an interview with Bruin Report Online.

As a junior, Cox was 237-for-373 for 3,983 yards and threw 43 touchdowns.

Duke is expected to re-open their recruiting at the quarterback position in light of these recent developments.
