Zoubek Has High Major Interest

Brian Zoubek has an impressive NIKE camp; still has many high major programs in the mix.

If there were any doubts about Brian Zoubek's standing among the elite players in the class of 2006, those were likely erased at the Nike All-America Camp in Indianapolis. The 7-foot, 243-pounder from Haddonfield Memorial High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey proved to be a viable offensive cog for his team.

Zoubek showed decent footwork, a nice touch around the rim, and was a pretty consistent finisher throughout the camp. He was fairly unselfish, passing well out of the post. He's not the greatest athlete or blessed with the quickest feet, but Zoubek ran the floor and played hard all week.

Offensively, he certainly proved that he belonged and that he can get his points.

Many high major programs have been evaluting Zoubek over the past year. And it's likely many more schools will take a serious look at him in the next couple of weeks during the July evaluation period.

Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Connecticut, Michigan, Stanford, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Notre Dame, and Georgetown are some schools that have expressed early interest.

Without question, Zoubek will be a major target out of the Class of 2006. He is also an academic-minded prospect who has scored over 1300 on the SAT.
