List for Elite 2006 PF James Keefe

One of the best prospects in the west for 2006 is 6-8 forward James Keefe from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. Keefe just spent a week at the Nike Camp, sizing up the competition, and gave us a list of his early four favorites...

James Keefe, 6-8 JR PF, Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita, said last week at the Nike All-American Camp in Indianapolis that playing against such tough competition was a great experience for him.

"You really get a sense at the type of competition you'll play against in college," Keefe said. "It's the best thing you can do to improve your game, playing against other guys as talented as this."

Keefe, in his own right, is pretty talented, being among the best prospects in the west coast class of 2006, and is probably a top 25 national recruit.

In fact, even though it's very early in the recruiting game for Keefe, he said he's already received scholarships offers. "UCLA, California and Arizona have already offered," he said.

When asked if he had a list of schools he preferred, he said, "UCLA, Cal, Arizona and North Carolina. But I really don't have a favorite yet."

Keefe said growing up he was a fan of Duke and UCLA, "but nothing really big."

He hasn't taken the SAT or the PSAT, but said his GPA is a 3.3.
