Henderson Continues AAU Momentum

Gerald Henderson had another great AAU tournament this past weekend at the Playaz Ball.

Gerald Henderson, a 6-5, 210 pound small forward from Episcopal Academy in Marion Station, Penn., helped the Playaz Gold squad win the Playaz Ball this weekend. A group of reporters covering the event named Henderson the co-MVP of the event along with Wayne Ellington. Henderson, whose dad played many years in the NBA, is a terrific athlete that can wow a crowd with his drives to the basket or his sky-reaching dunks. "I am trying not to forget what got me here," Henderson said of his athletic game. "But I want to improve my perimeter skills and my ballhandling and my defense."

Henderson lives very close to the campus of Villanova and that has made an impression on him. "I like Villanova a lot," he said. "I have been there many times and I like the coaches."

But there is plenty of competition for Villanova. Gerald is also considering Duke, Notre Dame, North Carolina State, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest.

Henderson will next compete with the Playaz Gold at the ADIDAS Super 64 in Las Vegas and the Best of the Summer in Los Angeles. This site will have updates from both events.

Henderson is likely to be ranked high in the 2006 class by many scouting services due to his terrific summer.
