The Blue Devils weren't the only school to extend an offer this week either as Roy Williams and North Carolina made it clear they also have space for Brockman should he decide to take a trip cross country.
"Coach Williams left a message that they were offering," added Brockman.
The Duke offer comes after the Blue Devils started making their interest known back in April after the Boo Williams Invitational Tournament. Since that time it's been a steady string of appearances and overtures.
"They found out about me after that tournament and then sent Coach Wojo out to watch my AAU team practice, and they've been in contact as much as they are allowed to be since then."
However the coaches aren't the only one putting the full court press on the big guy.
"I've gotten to know Greg Paulus over the summer. We went to France together and hung out, and we've seen each other at camp in Colorado. We hit it off, and being around him makes you see what Duke has to offer."
Though Paulus had been an unofficial staff member who was reportedly offering Brockman a scholarship while they were in Colorado, the Seattle big man had yet to hear from Coach K until this week.
However, that's no longer the case as Krzyzewski saw him in action for the first time in person.
"When Coach K walks into the gym it's hard not to be aware of it, and yeah I noticed it. After everything that happened this month with him, you kind of want to raise your game that much more when he's watching you play."
Not that Brockman has trouble with his intensity level on the court.
"I try to give it everything I've got when I step on the floor," he told TDD earlier this summer. "If that means diving on the floor then so be it. I also love to get inside and rebound the ball. I think I'll be more of an inside guy who can step out and play some four, but mainly I'll stay inside. That's where I am most comfortable. I need to get stronger so I can defend the bigger guys, but I love to battle and I love contact."
At this point Brockman's list consists of Duke, Washington, UCLA, North Carolina, Gonzaga, and Arizona. All but the Wildcats have offered.
A decision from the big man isn't expected until he completes his visits, some time in the middle of fall.
