Devils Land In-State Runner

Wilson (N.C.) Fike running back Re'quan Boyette decided he did not want to wait around any longer and made a commitment. So who is the lucky team?

"It's Duke. I'm going to be a Blue Devil," says the 5-foot-11, 183 pounder. "Just mainly because I felt comfortable with the coaches and I feel like their program is coming around. I felt like this was the place I wanted to be to help them turn around."

Re'quan Boyette, who has not informed the other schools of his decision, will play running back for the Blue Devils. The recruited position did not play as the most important factor for Boyette.

"The position part did not play a big factor. The biggest thing really was the coaches. Playing time, yeah, that had something to do with it, playing early had something to do with it. But mainly it was just the coaches. I felt comfortable wiht the coaches. I felt like I had been around them and knew them longer than I actually did for the short time I was there. They kept in contact with me through writing notes. My mom really liked them, my family wanted me to go, and I wanted to go, so that made it really easy. So really, it was the coaches and the atmosphere that they had when I went down there."

Boyette, who committed over an offer from NC State and interest from Clemson, North Carolina, and Virginia, says he will only take one official visit.
