Alabama OL Prospect Talks Recruiting

Andrew McCain is one of the top offensive line prospects Alabama and a three star prospect by TheInsiders. He has an impressive list of offers, and he has been busy visiting schools for summer camps and unofficial visits. He discusses several of the teams on his list.

Andrew McCain has received offers from Florida, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Clemson, Arkansas, and Duke, but he doesn't currently list any favorites.

"I haven't really narrowed my list. Some of my decision will come during the season. I want to see how some teams do this year. I want to take some visits this fall and check out places. I want to look at how stable the head coaching job is going to be," said McCain.

A decision could come early or late in the season.

"I want to take a good look at several schools. If I have a good feeling about a school within the first couple of weeks, I could possibly go ahead and commit."

McCain has been busy attending several camps including Auburn, North Carolina, and Ole Miss. McCain recently attended the Florida camp.

"I went to the Florida camp a couple of weeks ago. It was really neat to be around all the facilities down there. All the coaches were great. Coach Zook was more involved with the camp than any of the head coaches at the other camps I attended. What more can you say about Florida? They always compete, and they are in the SEC," said McCain.

With the busy camp schedule, McCain did work in a regular visit.

"The only visit I took was to Duke. I liked it a lot. They are trying to get the program turned around up there. I was really impressed with the facilities. It was a lot nicer than I thought it would be. They seemed to be really excited about the future. They made a very strong impression on me," said McCain.

McCain is ready for his senior season.

"We are getting ready for two-a-days. We start next Monday at 7a.m.. On August 20, we play in a fall jamboree game at Vestavia against Shades Valley. Our first game of the season is against Vestavia at Briarwood. I am looking forward to that game. I have been mad about that game for the past year," said McCain.

A few schools, that have not offered, have started to pick up the pace.

"I have been getting a lot of mail from Purdue, Vanderbilt, and Alabama. The coaches from Alabama have been sending me a lot of hand written letters the past few weeks."

This fall, McCain's schedule will continue to be hectic.

"I will probably go to Auburn and Alabama. I will try to hit a few schools close by, like Ole Miss. The way my schedule is, with football games on Friday nights, I will try to go to as many places as possible," said McCain.
