McKinley Down to Four

While he's being considered as one of the better defensive prospects in the state of Georgia, Kenny McKinley has eyes on the other side of the ball at the collegiate level. Perhaps that's why he's narrowing his list a bit. Did Duke make the cut?

"Right now my top four are South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and North Carolina," said Kenny McKinley. "I'm also hearing a lot from Georgia and Duke, but those are my top four right now."

So what have the Gamecocks, Vols, Bulldogs, and Tar Heels done that have separated themselves from the pack for the 6-foot-1, 175 pound athlete?

"They're talking about me playing on the offensive side of the ball, and that's good. Georgia wants me as a defensive back, but I've never played defense in my life. I'd like a shot at quarterback or receiver if it came down to it."

He's certainly got the resume to facilitate a shot at playing on the offensive side of the ball after a junior year in which he threw for nearly 1600 yards and 12 touchdowns in addition to another 433 yards and 7 touchdowns on the ground for South Cobb (GA) High.

This year it's more of the same as McKinley has racked up 850 yards passing and an additional 570 yards rushing for a total of 19 touchdowns on the year.

"I scored four times in the first game, and it's kind of rolled on from there. I hope it continues to go well for us this season."
