Duke's Primary Target The Same

January is a slow season for recruiting, as you probably already know. The programs are fully into the swing of the season, and less able to spend time evaluating. But as far as we have heard, nothing much has changed: Duke seems to have identified their top target, and he knows who he is.

It's Luol Deng, as we suggested earlier, the very athletic small forward from Blairstown (NJ) Blair Academy.  One of our tipsters told us that a college assistant stopped at the airport and called his boss and told him that Deng could control the game from the small forward's spot like no one's business.  Well, we can think of someone, though he didn't really play small forward: Shane Battier did that as well.

Deng, as you probably remember, is also hghly coveted by Gary Williams, and Pete Gillen, among others.

So far, his team is 5-3 on the year, not particularly impressive, but remember that this is a prep school in the true sense. Imagine where they'd be without Deng.

He's obviously interested in Duke, but currently, it's hard to say just how much.  Stay tuned.
