Report: Paulus Likely To Put Off LOI

According to a published report, Greg Paulus will not be a Blue Devil in the early signing period.

Greg Paulus, who has been a Duke verbal commitment for the last 14 months, will likely not be signing his National Letter of Intent with the Blue Devils on Wednesday according to his local newspaper.

According to The Post Standard's website, Paulus' father, Dave, says his son is just "not ready" to make it official for Duke for basketball only.

"The football guys have continued to push," the elder Paulus said of other schools. "He's been named the top quarterback in the country by most recruiting analysts."

By not signing his letter, Paulus still remains technically a Duke verbal commitment, but questions about the Blue Devils' future at point guard remain unanswered as a senior Sean Dockery will be the only true ball handler on the roster in the 2005-2006 season.

With that in mind there is reason to believe the Duke coaching staff may begin evaluating some of the top lead guards in the class of 2006 including Indiana's Mike Conley and Louisiana's DJ Augustin among others.

TDD will have more on Paulus as details become available
