After returning home from Louisville over the weekend, Kuntz said he had a "great time" after watching the Cardinals basketball team blow a 17-point lead to archrival Kentucky. Still, he was on his guard when conversing with the media afterwards.
"They are all still pretty much even at this point. It's going to come down to where I think I will fit in the best on and off the field."
After leading his team to a state championship on the strength of nearly 120 tackles and 15 sacks on the year, Kuntz is pushing to be upgraded from a three to four star prospect by Scout.com.
So what does he think makes him such a high level player?
"I block a lot of passes and I'm a good pass rusher," Kuntz told Scout.com. "I pursue the ball well and have good run separation. I want to improve my overall speed and acceleration. I'm trying to improve my agility too."
Which is why the Blue Devils have been working on the Indiana native for over a year, and why the Duke coaching staff did all they could on the official visit to Duke.
"They did a really good job there. I really liked talking to Coach Roof and Coach Azzinaro. Both of them let me know that they thought I could make a difference there and that I would have a chance to play early."
And will playing time have an impact on his decision?
"I'd redshirt if that's what I needed to do, but I'd like to go somewhere I can play early, or at least have a chance to play early."
